Eastern Turkey 16 Days-15 Nights
DAY 01: HOME - ISTANBUL
Arrival in Istanbul. Welcome and assist by English Speaking
Tour Guide and all of the ladies will have fresh flowers and
the gentlemen will have souvenir as a present by Olbia Tours &
Incentives. Transfer to the hotel and check-in. During the key
distribution “a welcome cocktail” will be served and dinner at
hotel. Dinner and overnight will be at hotel.
DAY 02: ISTANBUL
After breakfast full day Historical Istanbul tour including
lunch and visit to Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, St. Sophia, and
Topkapi Palace (Treasury and Harem Sections not included
!) Dinner and overnight will be at hotel.
DAY 03: ISTANBUL
Breakfast and visit to the Spice Bazaar and then Bosporus
Cruise in the morning. In the afternoon visit to Beylerbeyi
Palace. Then shopping will be done. Dinner and overnight will
be at hotel.
DAY 04: ISTANBUL - ADANA - ANTAKYA
Early breakfast and flight to Adana. Drive to Antakya, visit
to Sokullu Mehmet Pasha Caravanserai, Antakya Mosaic Museum
and Church of St. Peter. Dinner and overnight will be at
hotel.
DAY 05: ANTAKYA - GAZIANTEP - ADIYAMAN
After breakfast drive to Adiyaman, lunch will be served in
Gaziantep. Dinner and overnight will be at hotel in Adiyaman.
DAY 06: ADIYAMAN - NEMRUT MOUNTAIN - ADIYAMAN
Breakfast at hotel and drive to Nemrut Mountain, see the huge
heads of Gods (Apollo, Zeus, Hercules) and Goddesses (Tyche =
Fortuna) built by Antiochus I, King of the Commagene Kingdom
in the 1st century, and the artificial man made hill, more
than 2000 meters high. Dinner and overnight will be at hotel
in Adiyaman.
DAY 07: ADIYAMAN - DIYARBAKIR
After breakfast drive to Diyarbakir, cross the Euphrates
River, see the City Walls, Bazaar and Ulu Mosque. Dinner and
overnight will be at hotel in Diyarbakir.
DAY 08: DIYARBAKIR - VAN
Breakfast and drive to Van situated on the shores of Lake Van,
one of the world highest lakes at 5,500 feet. Dinner and
overnight will be at hotel in Van.
DAY 09: VAN
After breakfast at hotel visit Cavustepe, Hosap Castle, reach
the Akdamar Island by local boats, then visit Van Castle.
Dinner and overnight will be at hotel in Van.
DAY 10: VAN - DOGUBEYAZIT
Breakfast at hotel and drive to Dogubeyazit, the closest town
to Mt. Ararat, visit the famous 18th century Ishak Pasha
Palace, built on a high valley overlooking the caravan route.
Dinner and overnight will be at hotel in Dogubeyazit.
DAY 11: DOGUBEYAZIT - KARS
After early breakfast drive to Kars. Visit to Ani, the capital
of an Urartian State and later of the Armenian Bagratid
Kingdom from 953 to 1045 AD. Among the ruins of this ancient
city there are eight churches, a convent, and a citadel along
with the main cathedral which has alternately been a church or
mosque. Dinner and overnight will be at hotel in Kars.
DAY 12: KARS - ERZURUM
Breakfast and drive to Erzurum, the largest city in Eastern
Anatolia. Visit Islamic monuments from Seljukian Period like
the Cifte Minareli Medrese, Tombs from Mongol and other
buildings from the Ottoman Period. Dinner and overnight will
be at hotel in Erzurum.
DAY 13: ERZURUM - RIZE - TRABZON
After breakfast drive to Trabzon on the Black Sea Coast. Visit
the Tea Institute at Rize. Dinner and overnight will be at
hotel in Trabzon.
DAY 14: TRABZON
Breakfast and visit Church of St. Sophia and Sumela Monastery
which was well known and respected as a monastic center from
the 4th century until 1923. Dinner and overnight will be at
hotel in Trabzon.
DAY 15: TRABZON - ISTANBUL
After early breakfast fly to Istanbul. Transfer to the hotel.
Rest of the afternoon at leisure. Dinner will be served at
hotel. Overnight.
DAY 16: ISTANBUL - HOME
Breakfast and transfer to Istanbul airport. End of our
services
